Office helping collect pennies for Community Care!
St. Catharines – MP Rick Dykstra has lined up with many other individuals and businesses in the Garden City who are taking advantage of the federal government’s plans to phase out the penny, to get people to empty out their piggy banks and donate them to help those who are less fortunate.
“This is a great time to do a little spring cleaning and get rid of those pennies collecting dust in a cupboard”, says Dykstra. “Community Care of St. Catharines and Thorold will certainly put that money to good use, so my community office is a great place to drop them off.”
“Any donation to Community Care, no matter how small, is always appreciated”, said Nancy McIntosh, Community & Development Coordinator for Community Care. “You’d be surprised how fast it all adds up and from our standpoint, every penny counts!”
Dykstra’s Community Office is open from 9 am till 4:30 pm Monday to Friday.
