as the Niagara IceDogs get set to pound the Ottawa 67’s!

Ottawa – St. Catharines MP Rick Dykstra accompanied Niagara IceDogs owners Bill and Denise Burke to a meet and greet with Prime Minister Stephen Harper this afternoon, on the eve of the IceDogs game four battle with the Ottawa 67’s.
Dykstra said the Prime Minister is well aware of the tight series. “The Prime Minister loves good hockey”, said Dykstra. “Whether it’s at the NHL, Olympic or junior level, it’s something that he takes an active interest in, and the fact that Ottawa is in the middle of two exciting playoff series hasn’t escaped his attention.”
The Prime Minister wrote a message of good luck on a photograph of the team that will be hanging in the IceDogs’ dressing room tonight, while the Burkes presented the him with a Niagara IceDogs jersey and two books on local hockey history and posed for pictures with him before heading back to get ready for tonight’s game.
The IceDogs currently lead the OHL Eastern Conference final against the 67’s, two games to one.
